Motokawa, a casting director, based in Tokyo, Japan, has cast numerous projects from independent to major feature films and TV series, music videos, and TV commercials both domestic and abroad.
He was born and raised in Yokohama and left his hometown to the United States in his early teens. There he spent his high school years in the Cambridge School of Weston and pursued his studies in performing arts.
Motokawa devoted his later years in Paris, attended École Internationale de Mimodrame de Paris (established by Marcel Marceau) and devoured cinemas, frequenting Cinémathèque Française and revival houses. His days in Paris enlightened him to proceed his path to filmmaking. He relocated his studies to California and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts.
Motokawa began his career in Tokyo at Toei Tokyo Studio– one of the three major film companies in Japan. There he joined the casting department and found a creative haven collaborating for such eminent Japan Academy Prize winning directors such as Yasuo Furuhata, Yoshimitsu Morita and Isao Yukisada.
In 2005, Motokawa struck out on his own and formed his own casting company, Rapallo, in Tokyo.
Now in addition to casting for featured films, Motokawa’s playing field stretches out to TV series, commercials, advertisements, music videos, etc.

神奈川県生まれ。California Institute of the Arts（カリフォルニア芸術大学）卒業。帰国後、東映東京撮影所キャスティング部に所属し、多数の映画・ドラマに携わる。2005年、東映より独立。TVCF、映画を中心に活動中。
